The wheel wells on this deck are designed for this specific setup and they’re nice and deep, so you’re going to get a lot of wheel clearance on this deck set up the way we build it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThink of the LowTide vs the Fantail in a similar way to how one might compare a Pranayama to the Trip. You’re going to set the Lowtide up one specific way, and in a way, that makes the deck a little more restrictive when it comes to setups, but on the other hand, the deck is absolute perfection just as it is, and you wouldn’t want to change it. The Trip is more versatile with setup, and because you can put RKPs on it (as you can with the Fantail), it can be set up to be more stable at higher speeds. This is definitely an advantage for some people, but for most people, they’re going to enjoy the excitement that the TKP-setup brings, because it is more flowy and has a nice, loose center that many will find more thrilling, up to a point. The increased flex on the LowTide does make it less stable at higher speeds, but you’re going to really enjoy the carve, lower speed slides and speed checks, and the flow at the speeds that most people are going to ride a cruiser at. And of course, you can always reverse that rear wedged riser to deaden up the back end and make it a bit more stable at higher speeds. Don’t sleep on this deck. It is as good as it gets for this type of board. Our manufacturing methods result in no mold release on these wheels, so you don’t have to wash them with soap to get them feeling right. The 74a are quite grippy out of the box and even suitable for a Surfskate deck, while the 78a are a touch easier to get sliding right away. And because they have a wider contact patch than many wheels of similar size, they offer quite a bit of mechanical grip. This results in a nice, in-the-pavement feeling slide with decent stopping power. For medium to lower speeds and a smaller turning radius, choose the 50\/50 options. An ideal fitment will be with 150mm RKP trucks and our 92mm Karma wheels. This will be the most common setup, and it’s the best fit for riders looking to travel distance. The key here is getting the bushings right. The stock Paris bushings are simply too small for the trucks, and they allow the bushing to “play” in the bushing seat. For a better fitment, choose the Seismic bushings offered here. These will fill the bushing seat and force the truck to perform per its geometry. Although they are light for their size, they’re still quite hefty unless you’re used to riding wheels this large! Choose the Hoku when weight and ride height is less important than maximum roll speed over less than perfect pavement and extended momentum. The large diameter will even out road bumps and debris, and at 10mm larger than our 92mm Karma wheels, they will increase the ride height by 5mm.
