Dogtown’s signature Cross graphic by C.R. Stecyk III first appeared in Skateboarder Magazine in 1976 and was soon applied to boards through art by Wes Humpston and Jim Muir.

The brand is tied to Venice/Dogtown skate culture and, through Jim Muir’s brother Mike Muir, to Suicidal Tendencies and skate-rock history.

In 2014 Jim and Mike Muir brought Dogtown and Suicidal Skates back together under skater-owned Dogtown x Suicidal distribution, still producing wood decks and related goods.
