Foundation Skateboards was founded in 1989 by pro skater Tod Swank with help from Steve Rocco of World Industries. Swank had asked to ride for World; Rocco instead helped him start his own brand.

About Foundation

Foundation Skateboards was founded in 1989 by pro skater Tod Swank with help from Steve Rocco of World Industries. Swank had asked to ride for World; Rocco instead helped him start his own brand.

Foundation was distributed through World Industries for about two years. In 1991 Swank moved the company to San Diego and ran it independently under what became Tum Yeto.

Foundation produces skate decks, apparel, accessories, and videos. It remains part of the Tum Yeto family alongside brands such as Toy Machine, Habitat, and Pig.
