Moxi Skates was founded in 2008 by Michelle Steilen (also known as Estro Jen) in Long Beach, California.

Steilen partnered with Minnesota manufacturer Riedell to produce colorful, lifestyle-oriented outdoor roller skates as an alternative to plain derby footwear.

The brand is known for models such as the Lolly and for popularizing fashion-forward quad skating; Steilen later focused on the brand after selling the retail shop.
