About Popwar
Popwar emerged in 2002 under Giant Distribution after New Deal’s team dissolution and a brief Populis phase led with pro skater Cairo Foster.
Graphic designer Yogi Proctor helped define the brand’s tongue-in-cheek “war on popular culture” visual identity.
Early team members included Cairo Foster, Kenny Reed, Chad Tim Tim, and Rob Gonzales; the original run faded later in the 2000s after ownership/distribution turmoil.
