Skate Mental is a skater-owned brand associated with Big Time Distribution in the San Francisco Bay Area. Founder Brad Staba, a professional skateboarder, launched the company in 2007 (Berkeley/SF area).

Brian Anderson helped Staba start the board company. The name was suggested by Frank Gerwer. Early product began with printed shirts and basement-made decks.

Product focus includes skate decks, apparel (tees, hoodies, hats), bearings, and accessories with a humor-driven graphic identity.
