Bear Trucks were started by Landyachtz around 2004 because existing trucks bent or broke under freeride and speedboarding forces on large wheels.

Early models included the CNC Precision Smokie for downhill and the Grizzly for freeride, carving, and cruising, with stronger 10mm axles and faced hangers.

Later landmarks include the forged Kodiak downhill/freeride truck and Polar Bear trucks tailored to lower, stronger cruiser setups such as the Dinghy.
