About Hosoi
Hosoi Skateboards is the namesake brand of vert legend Christian Hosoi. He formed Hosoi Skates in 1984 (distributed first through Skull Skates, then NHS) and launched Christian Hosoi Enterprises Inc. in 1985.
Hosoi is associated with the patented Hammerhead deck shape released in the mid-1980s, which influenced other companies’ shaped boards. Hosoi also pioneered tricks including the Christ Air and Rocket Air.
The current brand, based in Costa Mesa, California, produces classic and updated shapes, guest-artist graphics, mini boards, and related product, with decks made in Costa Mesa.
