Collection: Rasa Libre

Rasa Libre Skateboards was founded in 2003 by Matt Field under Deluxe Distribution in San Francisco. Deluxe’s Jim Thiebaud and Mic-E Reyes approached Field, then a longtime Real rider, about starting a new board company.

The original team included Matt Field, Nate Jones, and Reese Forbes, with early art direction tied to Michael Leon. The name is often glossed as “the essence of freedom,” reflecting Field’s freer, art-forward take on skateboarding.

After leaving the Deluxe camp and a mid-2000s pause, the brand had a later revival period and eventually ended under Deluxe. It is known for cosmic/soul-oriented graphics and as an early home for talent including Omar Salazar.
