Venture Trucks was developed by Eric Swenson and Fausto Vitello (of Independent) as a simpler, more affordable truck aimed at emerging street skating.

Original team rider Keith Cochrane became co-owner and manager soon after launch; early support from Mark Gonzales helped establish street credibility.

In 1992 Venture released the Featherlight, widely cited as the first low-profile truck built specifically for technical street skating; the brand remains under Deluxe Distribution.
